Accomplishments
Kelsey is a licensed, multi-line insurance agent, which means she can meet all your insurance needs. She was the first female agent in Farm Bureau to be nominated for and win the FB Trusted Advisor Award. Starr Insurance Agency has also been voted Monroe’s Best of Best Insurance Agency by the community in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. This is extremely special to us because it is voted on and determined by the community. Our team is committed to providing the best possible insurance service to you, your family, and your community.
Kelsey Starr
Kelsey has been working at the Starr Insurance Agency for over 25 years. She started as a high school co-op student working part-time, filing, and completing basic customer service tasks. She received her degree in Business Management from Michigan State University, and once that was done, she returned to the agency to work full time. When she returned, she was placed into the office manager role and a few years after that, she decided to become an agent and has never regretted that move. Kelsey is motivated by her three boys and her husband! Her second motivation is being able to provide safety and security to her insureds.
Benjamin Starr
Ben joined Farm Bureau Insurance as an agent in 2003 after graduating from Michigan State University. He later purchased the agency from his father, Vern Starr, in 2013 and formed Starr Insurance Agency, Inc. with his wife Kelsey. Ben has held the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and the Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist (AFIS) designations during his career. Ben currently handles the agency’s business clients and our Annuity/IRA contracts. Outside of the office he enjoys coaching youth football, traveling with his family, and Michigan State football games!
Sara Steckmeyer
Sara is one of our amazing experts here at the Starr Insurance Agency! Her favorite part about the agency is being able to offer a service that provides safety & security for others. She also loves working with her co-workers! The Starr Insurance Agency team is a hard-working, entertaining team. She has worked at Starr Insurance Agency for over a year and is motivated by her two boys and shows them every day how rewarding it is to work hard.
Stacy Maus
Stacy is another one of our amazing experts here at the Starr Insurance Agency! Her favorite part about working at Starr Insurance Agency is hanging out with her favorite peeps all day! She has worked at Starr Insurance Agency since 2016. Stacy is motivated by her to-do list and the satisfaction she gets when she is able to cross off all of her tasks.
